Technology Design
Effective residential technology design requires a system that is practical and easy to use.
Whether focused on connectivity, security, or entertainment, our approach is to leverage the capabilities of each technology platform so as to add value to the platforms that make up the system—a rock-solid network that provides the infrastructure for a surveillance system, which can in turn be monitored from every TV, etc. Paired with an active dialogue with the client, this design-first approach forms the foundation of our tailored-technology service, allowing us to deliver a system custom-built to the needs and specifications of the client.
We group various technologies into four categories according to the need they satisfy. A project may draw from one, or more, or all the categories—our expertise is in knowing what technologies and platforms are available and in implementing them in the most effective way.

Connectivity is more crucial now than ever, as more and more devices go online, as remote work, Facetime, and video streaming demand more and more bandwidth. A robust network is a critical component of the connective infrastructure in a hi-tech home, providing the framework that supports the entire technology system.
Security is, understandably, one of the most important considerations for owners of homes of all sizes. The security category comprises three primary systems: Surveillance, Access Control, and Alarm systems. Each system covers a different aspect of security, and each property requires a unique balance of the three to provide optimum security.
The control category encompasses three concepts: control, e.g. playing a specific song or movie, or increasing or lowering the temperature; automation, such as recurring tasks or schedules, one-touch scene recall, and more; and integration, which refers to incorporating the various technologies into a unified system.
The good stuff! Entertainment and audiovisual systems, such as home theaters and multi-room audio, obviously belong in this category, but we like to include “comfort” systems as well—lighting control, circadian lighting systems, environmental control, and window treatments like privacy and blackout shades as well as drapery systems.
